1) To utilize the stage and its related activities to develop and/or create higher levels of self esteem in our youth.
2) Support youth in an effort to foster greater self-pride by increasing their cultural awareness through instruction and presentation.
3) To provide ALL-YOUTH (regardless of race,creed, or color) with a rich opportunity to disover and rediscover Americas great Black Cultural Heritage
TOTAL OF 10 WEEKS-

**All of our youth are guided and instructed by professionals, passionate about their service and occupation. (i.e.-They are not just people who needed a summer job.) BRG Director Sean Vaughn Scott will provide Stage Direction in the Summer Production. Clarence Ray Johnson Jr. will provide direction and Character Study.
The Dynamic Ms. Faye Carol
(Musical Director @ Oakland School Of The Arts), Instructs for the 10th Summer @ BRG, her renown Music In The Community Program (MITC) , which develops young voices, teaches the Art-Of-Musical Rehearsl & Performance, as well as the History of Popular Music.

teach Poetry & writing Workshops to our youth.
Dance and Drum instructors include A stellar list as well!
SOUND AND LIGHTING DESIGN,
COSTUME AND PROP MANAGEMENT,
AND OTHER THEATER RELATED CAPACITIES.
THE KIDS LEARN & PERFORM IT ALL!
Also periodically professionals with careers in key positions, within the industry, are invited to GIVE BACK! As they share and stop by our DAYCAMP to provide insights into different opportunities in the field.
Q&A sessions, bring your youth that much closer, to the very tangible reality of one day being, in front of, or behind the scenes of, what they see on stage,film and TV.
THERE ARE 2 FIELD TRIPS:( per session)
-HOWEVER An enclosed park is located in the back of our theater for morning exercise and recreation (The park is gated and secured) It is where we provide what we call KID-TIME- where the kids get to relax,BBQ. Thats right we will enjoy plenty of BBQ's, JUMPERS,GAMES,BALLOONS, BUBBLES,POPCORN, COTTON CANDY and A host of 'opportunity for amusement'-However, pleae do understand this is A broadway production camp, please note that this is not an outdoor recreation camp.
Audiences from surrounding cities DAY CAMPS ATTEND OUR PRODUCTIONS ANNUALLY-Over 150 outside camps and Up to 10,000 attendees will see your youth perform in 49 shows! (10 a.m./1:00
p.m.almost 2 shows every day beggining the 3rd week) -

Yes your childs show is many times the field trip their regular school year chums may take while at their respective SUMMER CAMPS.
Everyyday is gameday-Twice A Day! Every youth will have an opportunity to play the role of their choice.
In fact, due to the # of shows most kids play multiple roles.-
(WHY NOT 49 SHOWS GIVES EVERYONE THE SAME OPPORTUNITY!)
Of Course we close out our summer EVERY YEAR with PAPPARAZZI WEEKEND! A Weekend-with press,media,Red Carpets, Galas and THE LONGEST of STRETCH LIMOS ,-thanks to Frances Kelly at KB Limousines.(see photos)
Our daycamp is A Performance Camp. We impress upon our kids that we must provide excellence in our presentations, as it is the EXPECTATION of our loyal fans and the general public. In fact every summer, some day camps return A second, and even a third time, to see our shows. The attendees come from ALL OVER the broader Bay Area-just about-every BAY AREA city with A summercamp. They all want to see A GOOD SHOW-Here at Black Repertory Group-We impress upon the youth in our camp, that it is our duty to give the PUBLIC A GREAT SHOW!

The Black Repertory Group located in Berkeley, CA at 3201 Adeline St will be holding a summer theater performance arts day camp program for youth ages 3-16 years old for 8 weeks beginning on June 21-August 16! The youth will enjoy various activities such as acting, performing, learning various skills such as acting, singing, dancing, lighting and set design! Also included will be a lesson on the history of music from the DYNAMIC Faye Carol! They will have an opportunity to perform in front of up to 10,000 people during 45 performances and will end the summer with a paparazzi night and a special trip to Six Flags Marine World or Great America!
